Octave Records PS Audio

What would be nice for us would be a subscription service. We could commit to buying releases and would never miss them?

Thank you for this response Paul. I would definitely be interested in digital downloads from PS Audio but also understand there are infrastructure and staffing/time investments that are necessary and may not fit into your business model. Appreciate all the great work you and your team do.

Great suggestion. Maybe over time. Launching a record company is a big challenge. One step at a time.

Thanks for the understanding. It’s a heck of a lot of work to setup a recording label and get all the Ts dotted and the Is crossed. For me, it’s a bit of torture because I am not a process oriented person. The small details, the lawyers, the little bits and bobs that have to be attended to before everyone’s happy, suck the creative life out of me and drive me bonkers.

Creatives vs. process. Arrgh.

Hi Paul, Why not selling the download at blue Coast Records? They have everything ready to sell music download!

I found both not funny, but this merica, and we all have freedom of speech
 live and let live!

Isn’t Victor W. a part of Octave too? If so I can’t wait to hear some of his stuff.

Yes, this is still the USA huang, sorry you feel the way you do
my comment was a kudos to Paul
and was a direct reply to Paul’s statement "to Paul’s statement
“We on it boss”

Read the context
context is king

I guess either Paul is

trying the „limited edition“ strategy

wants to avoid illegal spreading

currently doesn’t want to put effort or money into this way of selling

wants to sell the physical releases first and get an impression of the demand for future releases

To be honest with those shipping costs I think the demand for downloads would be much bigger than for discs
but maybe Paul’s mainly thinking US centric here, too.

Problem is setting up from scratch the server and software necessary to do downloads for a price is a project they have not yet undertaken. My guess, as Paul has stated I think, is it’s coming for future releases when they can devote the manpower to build the necessary infrastructure

Paul kindly provided his reasoning in post 79. Makes a lot of sense. As always, I really appreciate his openness. Looking forward to hearing these releases soon.

Ordered my copy :grinning:

Ah just saw it
didn’t expect they’d have to do this themselves with the infrastructure.

Just ordered my copy! I absolutely LOVE Dave Grusin, can’t wait to hear Don!

I skip
 but congratulations

Just to say a huuge congratulations to @Paul and all of you, this really is quite a monumental achievement and I have no doubt the label is going to be a runaway success.

Glad to have pulled the trigger before a $5 shipping charge kicked in for the US, though I would’ve still done it.

Paul is “Out Thin Air” sold out yet ? Wouldn’t be surprised if it were

Congratulations Paul

There’s 48 left out of the first 1,000. So pretty much, yes.

We’ll place another order but that limited edition initial release is essentially gone. Thanks.

Congrats!
