I really don’t think one can tell 384 over 192 even with headphones or the best systems. Support would only be needed just because a few of those files are out there.
I Hi guys. What do I need in my Perfect WAV DAC MKII to get the full MQA decoding from Tidal? Is there an upgrade from PS Audio website. I’m using a HP laptop using Tidal with a USB connection to the DAC. It sounds great I’m getting 96k on the front display. Thanks.
You’ll need the Bridge II. Our DAC doesn’t decode MQA because we don’t want to change the DAC’s performance to accommodate the compressed format of MQA. We do a full unfold when Tidal streams through the Bridge II because there we can handle the decompression without impacting DAC performance.
Thanks Paul! I’m in the process of ordering the bridge now from you guys. I’m so happy the Perfect Wave DAC MKII can do this because that DAC sounds fabulous. I also have the matching transport CDs sound really good I’m mean really good. Got all your power cables too. Thanks again Paul. Chris from Winnipeg Canada.
You will also need to use mConnect to do the full Tidal unfold once you get your Bridge II.
I just downloaded the MConnect Control app on my iPhone. Looks pretty slick. Very excited to get the bridge and stream. I may be asking you guys questions once we get going with the upgrade. Thanks so much.
Please ask away if you need anything. There are a number of people here who are very good with the apps, and very generous with their time and knowledge.
Nice! Thanks for posting.
The PS Audio guide for setting up MConnect with the bridge is great. Don’t forget to update your streaming quality in the settings menu of the app! PS Audio Guide
Ok excellent. Thanks all you guys for this information. I’m so pumped to get the bridge and start doing this. Hope to receive the bridge next week. Will keep you posted.
I have my local music library on a MacBook and I also have a Tidal subscription. After getting the Bridge II, I was running JRiver for my local files and MConnect for Tidal/MQA via an iPad as JRiver does not support Tidal. JRiver also has an iPad client. After switching back and forth for a few days it became a royal PITA so I decided to try Roon for a year.
Roon works great with the Bridge II for both my local files and MQA streaming from Tidal, all in an integrated experience that is consistent across platforms. iPad, Mac etc…
I didn’t go for the lifetime as I am eagerly awaiting what PSA is going to do with their server and meta data management platform but for now, Roon makes navigating multiple sources much easier.

Hi guys. I just installed the Bridge II did the firmware update with SD card seems good. On MConnect I get this notice on my iPad. Delay in streaming or unsupported file format. What’s going on?? Looks fine on DAC shows the music but won’t play. This is very frustrating!!
I’m using Tidal for the streaming and that’s it nothing else. No other files nothing.
Did you reboot after the update was complete?
Hi there Brett. No I did not. But I just shut down the DAC just now. Then switched it back on it initialized. I switched to the input and still no music. On the MConnect App I turned on the DCHP in the settings is that right?
Was Tidal working before the update, or did you just get the DS / Bridge II?
Yes, 99%+ most likely should set to DHCP, you’d know if you use static addressing on your lan.
I just received the Bridge II today and installed it. I call PS audio today and he told me to upgrade the firmware on an SD card to the Roon upgrade 2.9.7 or something like that. Did the update installed that. Using MCONTROL with Tidal on a new IPad. It seems to be talking to each other but when you press play on the control it says that Delay in streaming or unsupported file format. I appreciate you trying to help Brett.
Try rebooting your entire network and then try plugging in your DSD after it is booted up. Also make sure you have a * symbol on your bridge input display. Tidal/MConnect was giving me these errors one day and it was all home network related, mine occurred just a day or two after delivery. After doing my above recommendations I haven’t had any problems in the past 5 weeks.
Thanks Brady I will try that. Do I need to install a different firmware update with the SD card. I have the Roon 2.7.9 update something like that. The bridge say all updated. Mcontrol says all updated. I’m not using Roon or whatever that is. Using Tidal on the MControl app.
My network issues were not firmware related in anyway; all of my firmware were on the latest versions before, during, and after the connectivity problem and I didn’t try to change the firmware while fixing the issue. I did notice that when the bridge II and my home network are playing well together the MConnect app connects to the bridge II almost instantly when I load the MConnect app and it always has the PS audio logo. When the connection was having issues the logo would be a generic computer icon and the connection would be very slow to connect if at all, and had to be manually selected. I tried everything I could possibly think of and the final thing I tried was to reboot my entire network with the DSD not connected to the network, then boot the DSD, then connect the bridge network cable. I would have put very little faith in that working at that point in time but it did; I think my issues were exclusively network related.
