P10 and amp failure/problem

This is a peculiar thread. I’ve had my power go out in my house several times over the years. It’s almost always a storm of some sort. Usually a transformer somewhere on the electrical lines somewhere failed , I’ve lost power once when a car crashed into a power pole next town over. In any case when there’s a bad storm I usually just disconnect everything.

Hi Erik,
I always do the same when storm is coming!
But it was happened during the sunshine day and when I listened music!
Louder bang from P10, all electricity in house went out. I switched on main circuit breaker and found P10 with bad fuse, replased fuse, burned again. I connect Vitus Audio amplifier to the wall socket and found amp in protection mode. I must send it to factory service and all the story…
It was really happened and was not my fault and no response from PS Audio.
P10 is working now after service replacing regenboards…

It makes no sense that the p10 would take out all the power in the house. What does make sense is that whatever took the power off for the whole house damaged the p10 and the amplifier. There are breakers in the panel box that should have prevented anything on one circuit from taking out the whole house.

  • I don´t understand what happened too! But there was no problem with electricity in the moment of accident.*

Now I am ending this thread, I have been contacted by PS Audio and we found solution!
Very serious approach from PS Audio.
Thanks all for interest and I hope no one will have such experience with P10 like me!

Good news indeed, and great for the PSA team to come to the rescue.

But after all this you’re not going to tell us what PSA discovered? :face_with_monocle:

@franta2, it would be appreciated if you could/would share some details.

P10 owners, such as myself, have been following your thread with some interest.

Of course, it is totally up to you.

Glad you have a resolution…

My thought is PSA resolved it conditionally.

Hopefully he’ll answer because I don’t know who he is or what we did to resolve it. P10s are some of our most reliable products and enjoy an amazing track record of reliability. So, I too am curious.
