He is an astounding musician, and has won a number of major international competitions. Reviews of his performances and recordings glow.

Pure joy. Talk about being “inside the music”! Thanks, Elk.

That guy watching didn’t seem too impressed, though…

His interpretations are both striking and musical. It is easy to understand why he has garnered so much attention.

It is astounding that after over 200 years performers can still breathe new life into Bach and other composers. One would think everything had already been tried.

To be fair, this is only half Bach, the other half being Rachmaninoff--some might say that it's he who "breathed new life" in Bach. Not to say it's a bad piece; I think it's a very nice adaptation of the original for the modern piano and Mr. Trifonov performs it very well.

True, but the piece played has been around for approaching 100 years, many of us know it well, and is only a single example of Trifonov’s interpretive work. Daniil Trifonov has won the Tchaikovsky, Rubinstein and Chopin Competitions. His interpretations of Bach are highly regarded as well.

Again,it is astounding that performers can breathe new life into Bach and other composers after hundreds of years and thousands of performers.
