PerfectWaveStreamer News

Keeping our fingers crossed!

Steven B-)

Here's the latest update. Both programmers have stepped up to the plate in good ways after our "talk" and we're pleased with their progress. I expect to see a new release of Windows late next week that should be good enough to try out to perhaps a broader audience. Dave, our director of engineering, is working directly with the Mac programmer to try and get the same thing through him, but I do not have anything to report on that front yet. Stay tuned.

I'd like to be part of the Broader Audience if possible!

And you will be - Once WaveStream gets past the Beta group the next step is almost certainly to release it to the forum membership.

Keep up the good work Betas…

Hi all,

FRom what I’ve been reading on this forum, the wavestream software acts as virtual sound card transmitting audio data from a player to the bridge via upnp. As far as the player is concerned, it`s playing to any old sound card.

If my understanding is correct, then with wavestream I can no longer use apps like bubbleupnp to control the playback because the playing application have to be controlled directly at the pc.

Am I correct?

@daphan1 - you can use apps to control the play back. In my system I use JRMC - it finds the Wavestream driver, the JRiver app controls the JRMC. you don’t see anything different on the controller side.

Correct, unless the player supports UPnP (in this case the player will be both the renderer and the server) or any other remote protocols/methods.

Uh huh, why didn’t I think of that? Just change the renderer to the player (JR).

Hope wavestream is out soon to give it a try.

We’re trying. We hope to have the latest Windows version to try late next week.

Looking forward to see the pubilc version of PWS

Looking forward to a Mac version.

I better hurry up and build a new computer…I hope.

I better hurry up and build a new computer...I hope. ;)

That's an appealing concept. While I'm not adept enough to do so myself, I'd be interested in learning how you would do this (what your "recipe" is), so that I might ask someone to build me a dedicated "music computer;" i.e.: what to leave in / what to leave out, what to emphasize / where to splurge...??

Here’s a collection:

@admin Hi Paul, did you mean last week or this week? Any good news for us?

Paul, how about a Mac wavestream update also

We apparently have a working 64 bit version but we do not have a 64 bit Mac in house to test. We’re working on that now, and in the meantime haranguing the programmer to get a 32 bit version worked out.

Hey maybe were getting closer to a Mac version to the beta team

Not a 64 bit mac version in house? I thought any Mac from 2007 should be capable of handling 64 bit (OSX Leopard and on).

Can we try the 64b windows version now?
