You don’t need a drone to take nice pictures in Iceland. You just need to be able to point and press a shutter. A few random samples from a couple of years ago.
I suppose you could always sit down with a nice coffee and listen to some music.
I’ve decided golf is overrated. We were staying at the Gleneagles resort this weekend. Played one round of golf on Friday afternoon, decided we didn’t like the place and checked out early. The picture at Photography above was taken walking up a hill when I was meant to be playing the King’s Course. Guess I’ll never find out as we’re not going back. As Noel Coward said, golf ruins a good walk.
I only come to Iceland due to work … sometimes you have to open up to new opportunities …
I only go to Iceland to get away from work … and people … and go to music at Harpa. We’ve done the luxury grand tour with the family and I’ve done solo in the freezing winter cold sleeping in the van. Next has to be the coastal cruise.
Actually it was so cold, I was having dinner with a friend in Akureyri and he said I was mad, and fixed me up to stay at a friend of his’ guest house for two or three nights, a few minutes away. I was quite grateful.
We’re still meant to be going on a cruise/walking/kayaking Nuuk to Disko Bay and back next May, but the wife thinks it unlikely. Who knows?
It looks black right now…but you should never give up hope …

There is always hope. I’m planning on playing in the Artic Open golf tournament up in Akureyri with my father, he’s 82 at the moment.
Then there is the Vestmannaeyjavöllur course in a volcano crater, which must be the most beautiful in the world. The Reykavik course looked interesting because it’s in a lava field, so you don’t want to miss the fairway.
