Sorry, I picked on the wrong guy ![]()
Most recently I used it for the FR30s, lower regions. Only used the disk for freqs up to about 30 Hz so not that many clicks to start. But if I want to check further up I will do it when no one is around, don’t want to be sentenced to anger management class.
More like 2 seconds each, it’s a disk of bass test tones.
Sounds like the PMG transport remote serves duo purposes. One you can advance to the next tract, and two, it serves as thumb exerciser. Just make sure from time to time you switch hands to maintain balanced symmetry.
I just figured I’d ask - does anyone else’s PMG SACD exhibit a startling clunking noise like a relay latching, when the rear power toggle is turned on? My PST was whisper quiet - dead quiet - when the rear toggle was engaged.
If your PMG transport was dead silent and now it makes a clunking noise, it probably should be returned to the mother ship for repairs.
No no. I’m was comparing it to the PST. Just wondering if other people’s PMG has a relay latching type noise.
Sorry, misread that. My PST is dead quite as well, but you’re trying to figure out if all PMG transports make a clunking sound. I would hope they all don’t.
For Tony’s curious mind I just turned off my PMG SACD, and turned it on. There was a clicking sound, nothing startling at all.
I am worried, with the whole family at home (some visiting from NY), I have had the system on everyday at low volume. Not a single person heard ANY difference from my latest $30k improvement. They said it sounds great, but it was the same as last time.
Now I am not sure if the “big improvement” was mostly in my head since my wife also said the system was sounding just similar to three months ago (before PMGs plus two topline cables showing up).
Since I am the only one who knows how much they cost, maybe I am the only person who is judgement impaired
Wait, no one listens to music including me this week.
My world will go back to normal next week, which means I will hear tiny and all differences from a cable lifter. ![]()
Send your “bad investments’ my way; I’ll give ‘em a good retirement home and tell ‘em what a great golfer you are.
Good thing that I did not tell you my 91 Mouton Rothchild experience, my brother-in-law said it was just “ok” when we had it a couple of years ago. Luckily I thought it was magnificent and I still have two left.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks Donald! I guess compared to the silence of the PST, the sound from the PMG took me by surprise. It’s the first piece of digital gear I’ve owned from PSA that’s ever made any kind of noise when turned on. I’m guessing there’s been some change to the power supply. @Paul, could you enlighten us?
The visiting family really is not positioned to make a judgement-their auditory memory is far too old (meaning more than a few hours).
Not only that, we have a four-month old granddaughter at home too. She likes Jazz, but only for 5 min. After that no one had time for music listening. ![]()
