I understand Qobuz is now able to connect directly to DSDs via its android app, or at least that’s what has been stated by Qobuz. Has this been confirmed by users of the DS DAC? If yes, would you explain what you did to get the connection? (I’d love to dispense with MControl.)
I dont use it, and sold my DAC, but I thought the Qobuz app was only to connect to the Airlens, not the dac directly
Not sure I understand your question completely but if you have a Mk1 and trying to use Qobuz connect I’m betting that won’t work.
My Bridge 2 connects with Spotify easily but I did not even try Qobuz. I use a more modern streamer that has those features.

Thanks for your reply. I assume my DS DAC is a Mk1, as it was purchased several years ago. Why ask? Because I had read that Qobuz recently introduced a connect feature and wanted to take advantage of it and avoid using the android MConnect app (which is how I get Qobuz streamed to the DS DAC and the rest of my system).
ah, MKI. Do you have the bridge installed? that makes it Roon compatible, but if I had to guess, not Qobuz connect. But its free to try.
Best way to know is to try Qobuz Connect, little risk involved. I use Qobuz with my INNuos ZENith Mk3 server streamers to good effect, and stream Qobuz in the car.
Yes, Bridge is installed and fully functional.
The android Qobuz app does not recognize my Directstream DAC, while MConnect does.
I believe the bridge was coded for mconnect (not sure what protocol) and roon. Qobuz connect I want to say its own and “coding” needs to happen for it to work. PS Audio has not done any updates to the bridge for a very long time.

Ensure Compatibility:
Make sure your device (like a Denon or Marantz receiver, or a WiiM streamer) is compatible with Qobuz Connect and has the latest firmware.
I have seen other devices need updates for it to work. Any supported device should get update for this if its worth its weight in beans. Airlens did.
Most with the MKI have moved away from bridge to another streamer and used the JK powersupply in the bridge spot. Sounds much better espeically via the I2S input. read up here if you have not alreay.
@brian.fitterman I think you’re right: my DS DAC’s bridge may not be encoded for Qobuz. The streamer doesn’t show up on the Qobuz app’s lower left, just the android phone, despite being seen by MConnect and my network viewers. Pity, but that’s the way it rolls.

Yeah I get that. Lots of good info here on how to stretch the SQ of that MKI here on the forum for not much money. Even a simple streamer with the MKI is really good. Find the cheapest used with I2S output. Airlens often has refurbs for $1k…perfect match for the MKI and if you have a good techy friend, the simple modes with cheap parts add that bit extra. You will love the DAC all over again.
All of the gear I have currently that are capable of using Qobuz connect required a firmware update to enable it. Most notably, two weeks ago dCS released the firmware for their current DAC offerings. It took just 3 minutes on my Rossini.
Directstream DAC MkI upgrades ended a year or two ago. It would be great if PS Audio could/would provide a firmware upgrade for it that allowed use of the Qobuz connect feature, but I fear that’s wishful thinking.
I am not even sure that thing was designed to be able to do that.
Any firmware upgrade to the Bridge that what allow Qobuz Connect would have to come directly from Conversdigital and not PS Audio. Reach out to them directly.
