Qobuz DSD download

Great news! Unfortunately no DSD streaming (yet), however Sublime offers nice discount

looks like the same selection I have seen on other sites

I am confused by this. One of the tags they show is labeled 96/24 which sounds like PCM to me. Is this just a function of the download process as opposed to streaming?

Korkmaz Can Sağlam

Classical - Released by Sono Luminus on Mar 22, 2024

Available in

24-Bit/352.8 kHzStereo

Booklet available
This selection from their list of DSD downloads is listed as 24/352.8 which is obviously way higher than the 24/192 maximum for their streams. Many other selections don’t list anything for resolution.

It is available in 3 formats PCM, DXD and DSD.

Ok, this clarifies things. DSD 256 is listed so we’re talking real DSD downloads here. If they offered something I was truly interested in owning this might be a good way to step into the world of DSD.

Hmmm. Yet to try DSD. So I would download file via pc. Put that on a thumb drive and plug that into Hifi Rose 520. Then select it and see what happens?

“It supports playback of PCM sources up to 32/768 and DSD sources up to DSD512.”

Sound right ?

Thanks for sharing. Great news even if DSD streaming would be more useful to me.
Even with a different subscription.

I find annoying a PC download + pen drive + streamer upload process.

Time will tell though.

Thank you for a very helpful link. Now I need to sit down and figure out how to send a DSD signal from my Eversolo A6 to my MKll considering the Eversolo has no I2S output.

USB should do the trick.

Reportedly the MkII USB input is sonically equivalent to its I2S. Get a good USB cable and do not fret.

I was using a USB cable from Lumin U2 (did not have I2S out) to MK2, and it sent DSD256 without any issue.

In fact, if you use a great USB cable, you may find it sounds superior to I2S link (there are a lot more choices in USB cables than HDMI).

Ok. Once again this forum has led me down another rabbit hole! Album purchased. Ill try here this afternoon and see if Hifi Rose can see it and play it.

Could run up quite a tab with a collection if these. Will be fun to compare CD, Hi res, Spotify and Qobuz and DSD on same song

Yes, your player should be able to see and play the DSD256 files, as long as you extract the music from a zip file that it might be.
If you want to avoid going further down the rabbit hole, stay away from music such as:

and

kidding aside, you might want to check those out and purchase when there is a sale

Thanks. Those look awesome. The file downloaded complete. No zip. About 2G i think. Will be fun to try. More fun if it just plays vs needing a tech review to figure it out.

I put it on a USB by itself to start with.

I fear the only way to play DSD256 with the A6 is using its DAC. I hope to be incorrect.
It is a decent DAC. For $850.
