Remote for Maestro from iPhone

Is there a kind of Remote for iPhone so I can control Maestro from it? While we are waiting for the real deal

@Paul can tell more about the timeline - hopefully really soon.

The real deal (IOS APP) is in the hands of Apple - I don’t understand what you are asking.

Hello Tom,

I think he’s asking if anyone knows how to control the Maestro app installed on his Mac with his iPhone. Perhaps, with screen mirroring?

Exactly:grinning_face:

Oh! The question makes sense to me now.

Hello Kurt,

Apple’s Sidecar will let you do that. It’s a feature that’s already part of your Mac and iPad. I was able to get it working after a google search and changing some settings on both the Mac and iPad. I haven’t been able to use the iPad’s touch screen, yet. People on YouTube seem to be able to do that, perhaps they have a newer iPad. What I do instead is allow the mouse curser to go from the Mac to the iPad and then I take the wireless mouse to my listening position. Hope this helps, it is possible.

Sorry, just realized your question was about the iPhone, not the iPad. I’m not sure but I think the iPhone can do it, too.

Sidecar? On App Store? I found Sofa Server, lets me press Play and Pause in Maestro, but not easy to find. On Page 2 there is a “Space” button, see pic

Sidecar isn’t an app that you download. It’s a feature of macOS. It’s already in your computer. But, I looked a little deeper and found no mention of the iPhone, just the iPad. Sorry.

Found one, Unified Remote, App Store for iOS and download for Macosx. Now I can control Maestro from the couch

Thank you for the information above. I installed Unified Remote and have been using its Media remote to control Maestro. However, Maestro doesn’t respond to the commands, while the Music app does. What am I missing?

Have you installed it on MacOsX too?

Maybe check this: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, where Unified Remote needs permission to show your Mac’s screen.

There’s also Privacy & Security → Accessibility for controlling the mouse and keyboard.

mitch751. Strange, it does not work today, only the pointer works from Unified. The blue Media does not, it worked great yesterday, sorry for the confusion

No worry thank you for the reply

Been fighting with this all day… ;(
