Hello everybody and sorry if this topic is already covered in another thread on this forum.
Is there a reliable way to remotely turn on the Sprout100 amplifier, given it does not have a standby mode (I mean I’ve tried smart sockets, but they only work for powering off)?
I’m looking for a smart home solution (e.g., Apple HomeKit integration) and not the standard remote control that comes with the amp.
Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve used the TP-Link smart outlets for years for many uses. Currently, one responds to either the App or Alexa voice to power on a small 12V power supply that triggers the power on of my BHK 250. It also powers off. Not sure how you’ve found devices that only work to power off.
Anyway, one of these setup with HomeKit and power cord into Sprout100 should do the trick. However, I don’t know the Sprout and if it doesn’t power on when supplied with power it won’t work.
If the remote is IR you could use a Harmony remote setup (no longer made) to respond to HomeKit and send the appropriate IR signal but at this point it would be much simpler to replace the Sprout with something that has auto power on with signal or a trigger.
Hope this helps but I suspect there isn’t a solution to powering on based on how the Sprout was designed.
