I made my own XLR and SE (RCA) interconnects using Duelund DCA20GA wire. I use Duelund DCA16GA wire for my speaker cables. They are sublime!
The Dueland cable are an excellent alternative. I have both XLR and SE cables plus a set of 12 gauge speaker cables I made myself. If you don’t feel comfortable making them yourself you can get them from a guy on Ebay that has been making them for several years or Bill (grannyring) on Audiogon plus Parts Connexion which is a lot higher priced. How does Dueland wire differ from say, AudioQuest’s versions of copper?
Dueland is old school; tinned copper with a cotton and oil dielectric.
Dueland is based on the old Western Electric wire and to my ears a warm smooth wire. Never owned an Audioquest cable of any type so don’t know about them at all. Too much hype for me. The Audio Envy cables are a more traditional copper cable though not as warm as the Dueland, again to me. Other cables I have used similar are Triode Wire Labs and the Copper cables from Audio Sensibility. Again all small direct marketed products.
I find that concept irresistible! Tinned copper with cotton, fergetaboutit 
If I get the ZRock, I need two pairs of RCA. Since my quest is for better tone, why not get Dueland?

What’s the story on shielding with Dueland? On the PartsConnexion website, most offerings are not shielded. My rig does double duty with home theater. Do I need to be concerned about the lack of shielding with Dueland?
I have used both the Balanced IC’s and speaker cables in a kind of combined system in the Family Room with no noise issues. Can’t say on SE IC’s as I don’t use them in that system at all. I would shoot Chris at PC an e-mail and get his opinion. He usually responds in a timely fashion.

Is Belden 8402 the same as Dueland? I see the Belden on eBay for $65 per meter for rca… says it’s tinned copper.
It’s similar as it was Belden’s take on the classic Western Electric wire formula. I bought all of my Dueland IC’s from CJ Webber on Ebay and the quality and construction is good and he is a good bit cheaper than PC.
