So your basically saying in order to get the latest firmware update ( Torreys Final ) to work, I have to spend $120 a year or $500 Life time to get it to work? What kind of crap is that? Doe’s PS Audio have stock in that company or something? Please correct me if I’m wrong about having to have that software.

I’m not sure where you got this idea. The latest firmware (Torreys) enables the Bridge to work with Roon for those who want it. But Roon is not required. I regularly play through the Bridge, using Torreys, but I have never used Roon.
Yes no idea where you got that idea…totally wrong end of the stick.
That said, I got my DS junior with almost the sole intention to use it with Roon. I also use it with jriver and a few other digital inputs to boot.
Now if I could just declutter my study I might actually get some listening done.

As you've no doubt gathered by now, the $120 a year is for Roon and has nothing to do with Torreys or PS Audio.
Torrey’s is an update with many features. It is free. One of these features is gaining access to a paid program called Roon. We spent a great deal of time and money making Roon possible through the Bridge. We did this because we like the Roon interface and many of our customers do too.
Having written that, I do not agree or frankly, understand their pricing policies. But that is their own and has nothing to do with PS Audio.
Torreys and all its benefits for PS DirectStream owners remains free.
