SGCD Input 1 question

Hello,

I have been happily using the SGCD for a few years but now have need for an extra analog input, My question is this: According to the manual, input 1 is used for either an XLR or a RCA connection. Can I connect both to input 1, the RCA to one source and the XLR to another and use input 1 as long as one of the sources is off? I would rather not try it if it will damage something.

That will not work as the other device even when off will load down down your desired one. Have you considered using an A/D adapter to send analog audio to one of the digital inputs?
