Hi,
Me three! I’m tired of fiddling. To the point that I really don’t want to listen to my system anymore. Can’t wait until you give us a report on the Rendu.
If I had a dream . . .
Jesus would be hired to build and provide Rendus to PS Audio and Bridge owners would get credit for their bridges towards a new Rendu!
There the whole problem is solved. What a dream!
Too good to be true!
B-)
It took me about an hour to get my system back up and running yesterday after being away for a while. WS had expired, JRMC was acting flakey and needed a couple of reboots, the router had lost track of the plot, as had the PWD, and the NAS went for its own little walk.
"Communication breakdown, its always the same."
Once operational, the sound was great, but it seems like a lot of hassle sometimes.
A Rendue in DC operation with the better power supply and an I2S board will cost what - $2500? So that is an expensive solution to fix the bridge.
Addendum - So things are working fine this morning, 24/192 Linn Corelli album playing very nicely.
Moment of reflection: Some people moan about tube gear taking time/energy to keep it running in optimal performance. Looking at my system, I realised that I have probably spent 98% of my time struggling to keep the digital side flowing. The amp gets a monthly bias check with record keeping and that is a pleasure to do, certainly by comparison with the headaches with the 1s and 0s.

You got a point here :)
K.I.S.S :-*
The more processes there are, the more they go wrong… Or so it would seem.
Aagh. For a second I thought this was a new thread about last night’s “Breaking Bad” episode . . . .

This certainly puts it into perspective.
Many assert tubes are a pain (I do not). Tubes are trivial in comparison to computer audio. People switch and upgrade software much more often than I ever have tubes. :)

I now have the recording of Correlli's Opus 5 (96/24) as a result of this comment. Wonderful performance and sound.
On the topic of the thread, Bryston will be releasing a software update adding DSD streaming capability to the BDP-1/2 in the near future.
On a related note, Acoustic Sounds reports many more DSD offerings will be available on its website soon.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying it. I am still quite keen about Manze's recording of the sonatas:

I have other recordings of Manze and he is uniformly superb performing both baroque and early classical. I’ll add this one to the list. Thanks!
I now have the recording of Manze playing the Corelli sonatas. It is indeed superb.
Great! Glad you like it. From your collection did you have another Manze standout?
Ironically, I have and enjoy Manze’s recording of Francesco Geminiani’s Concerti Grossi after Corelli.
I also like Manze playing Bach’s Solo & Double Violin Concertos with Rachel Podger. A dream team.
ah, interesting. Thanks!
