Mr B, do you ever take stock and reflect on all the money you’ve wasted on Kaleidescape, Esoteric, Magico, and wire exotica/extravaganza - and think why did I get all so wrong: instead of this vulgar audio pageant I should have bought a HiFi to play my music …
Not that my opinion matters, but I’m not a fan of the new look. Still, others clearly are, and that’s the beauty of choice and variety! I just hope the Stellar line of speakers are more like the AN3’s original design or are at least more traditional looking.
I think your metal stands looks much, much better than the stock stands. Transforms the whole speaker from sort of an Ikea look to that of a serious piece of audio gear.
While I agree the wooden stand appears dated, I appreciate the effort to add an aesthetic touch. Speakers, like chairs, are functional first but can also be pleasing to the eye.
The speakers look nothing like I imagined them to be going by the earlier iteration. I think the stand looks decidedly wrong for the style of speaker and to my eyes the speakers kinda look like two computer towers with grilles attached…
But look at those side panels!!!
My wife picked the old (Refined version) and said she did not like the new even a little.
I didn’t mention my Wilsons in the discussion, I know she doesn’t care for them…
There was a movie about just such a thing. The wife was the impossibly luscious Kate Beckinsale and the husband was the difficult to tolerate Adam Sandler. The movie was called “Click”. Ah Kate… When I hit the remote button…
Good point. Not only Magico, almost all premium lines of speakers stay away from parallel walls and curve the cabinet down. Being B&W, Focal, Magico, Sonas Faber, etc. I’d like to hear Chris’ explanation on the reason why?
