I recognize the Gryphon Diablo 300, Gryphon PowerZone, Gryphon Ethos, Grimm MU1, a Panasonic 4k blu-ray player, and a black box
Yes. The Rega RP10 is sheltered under the cover. No Stealths on that.
I’m afraid it won’t be as detailed or eloquent as one of your comparisons and you already know better than I what it’s like to live with these anacondas.
Well this was way easier than I thought it would be. I removed the Cloude Grande from the Ethos first back to Vanta result? Not much change in sound. Still sounds very good excellent detail, black back ground, super detailed accurate bass like a substantial subwoofer upgrade. Next I removed the 2020 from the Powerzone and that’s when I lost everything I just described!! Yes one 2020 on the PZ made that huge of an impact over an already excellent Stealth V16!
I removed all the stealths and returned to my original configuration with just adding the Stealth 20a 2020 back to the PZ and like that the magic was back. Wholly #%! I can’t believe what this one cable on the PZ does! For a cliffnote review the PZ without the Stealth 2020 makes the other stealth cables irrelevant on the integrated and source components IMO. The improvement is there but it’s not Sakra level. The Stealth 2020 on the PZ is not as shocking as V17’s on the Gryphon Ethos but it’s a pretty close second IMO. Wow! I know what I have to upgrade to next and it’s under $5k
I will say the full loom plays very well with eachother no doubt but the PZ or whatever one uses for power should benefit from the Stealth 2020 first and foremost!
I think @luca.pelliccioli has been preaching this already for a while!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, very interesting.
I agree with you about the Dream 20-20 feeding the PZ (or whatever conditioner regenerator you are using), but ultimately I found out that it excels in general with all the analog devices: amp and DAC (in my case the MSB power base since I added the Digital Director which separates the digital job on a different chassis).
In your case I expect the Diablo should benefit more from the 20-20. Or worth experiment with a MU2 if available in future.
On the contrary the Cloude Grande seems to excel powering the server/streamer. Unfortunately I have the digital sources on a different rack, it means they are nor plugged into the PZ. This obviously makes a difference.
I guess the MU1 in your case.
I just put the CG on the MU1 vs the AQ Dragon Source
The Dragon was slayed simply put. No contest. Openess, clarity, detail, better prat but again it starts with the 2020 on the PZ.
I will have to say the second most noticeable cable on my system is the CG on the MU1. The Vanta’s are pretty formidable. I’ll put the CG on the ethos again. I’m a glutton for punishment! No email from IL lottery yet either.
Other note on Steath CG on MU1 potentially MU2 also Is that you need a footer or something to place under the connection because it can easily be jarred loose. The cable is like fire hose.
Ok possibly my last post on these glorious cables for now. The Dream 2020 on the PZ without a doubt the foundation and must for my set up. After that I took the AQ dragon source out from the Grimm MU1 and it was no contest the Stealth CG is noticeably better all the usual audio superlatives can be added. I then added the CG back to the ethos for the same 4 songs playing thru MU1>Ethos DAC and another layer of detail is revealed. This repeated again once I put the second Dream 2020 back on the Diablo 300. The change very noticeable and prominent. I’d say with confidence it’s like upgrading every component in the system.
The Vanta held its own much better than the AQ Dragon imo. Tho the Vanta’s might cost as much as Stealth or even more so advantage Stealth for sure! The downside to Stealth other than very expensive? They are large and need space behind a rack. Not the easiest cable to manipulate compared to AQ and Vanta but the 4 of them working together in synchronicity on my system is something special and I will not soon forget. No spacing issues on the PZ with the connectors on the outlet. My only question is how much of a mind blow is adding Stealth speaker cables? Where’s the guy who says cables don’t matter? He definitely has not experienced Stealth cables! Now back to @straightwire! Thanks for the loan I think.
It might be an all nighter for me.
I should also mention that I used my AQ Thunderbird speaker cables during this experiment.
Thanks Paul and especially thanks to our mentor @aangen for leading us into the STEALTH world.
It’s crazy for sure! IMO you have not heard your audio gear at 100% potential unless you’ve heard it with the Stealth CG and 2020 Power Cables. My power cables now very good but don’t give my setup what the CG and 2020 give there’s a lot left in the throttle for sure! Power cables?? Cmon. Yes @aangen and Kyomi George who knows all the good stuff.
The stealth cables are now back at their rightful home. They very much enjoyed their stay while the audio parent was out of town. I think I will clean vinyl and watch movies for a week to reacclimate to the sound.
You have good friends indeed! This is the problem…
Thanks for your impressions, Paul. At least you now know that a Stealth Dream 20-20 is the next best cable replacement for you. My Furutech Project V1 for my Vault power strip also has the greatest advantage for me. The V1 for my mono power amplifiers do not have such an effect. The cables for my CD drive, my Switch and my Marantz Link 10n also clearly show their influence. I’m currently using an Audioquest Dragon Source for the Link 10n and have compared it to a Furutech DPS-4.1. The Furutech plays with richer tones and more realism. The Dragon Source has a slightly brighter tone and seems more like HiFi with good resolution, but lacks a bit of natural size and timbre. The Cloud Grand seems like a good choice. Does it then have the natural timbre sound of a DPS-4.1, with better accuracy and clarity of stage presentation? I should get a Cloud Grand to try out. Greetings Andreas
Excited by Paul’s Dragon Source vs. Cloude Grande report, I took another look at the audio market. The offer of the three-month-old Cloude Grande with an attractive discount has apparently ended. Was there perhaps a forum colleague who was faster than me?
The best!
I see this is the German distributor:
Give him a call, I think it’s safer purchasing STEALTH from official dealers and you could be surprised by net prices. Dealers usually have also used cables.
Any update on the new CG LEs?
Got them yesterday and initial reaction is good. A little more detailed with a more forward presentation and greater treble presence. The standard CG took a long time to settle in so this make take awhile to reach firm conclusions.
Powering the MU2?
Two Stealth CG LE’s powering the MU2 and Jay’s transport. Standard CG’s were on them before. Luca tipped me off to a new Limited Edition. Stealth was kind enough to swap them for full credit for the LE.
