STEALTH Power Cords

Thanks for that. There seems to be some consensus that close to the unit in question, say 4 to 6 inches, is a good spot for the ring. Possibly a longer distance for speaker cables with rings.

In a day or two I will add CGLE to MU2, but it still needs a few more days to break in, I am sure. It is not too surprising that ZenWave PSR-11 can match Dream2020, but if Takshaka can match CGLE that would be very surprising. People are probably more interested in that match up. No ring playing yet for CG.

Yes, CG LE vs Takshaka.
I could say something Al-like, that it is already known which power cable you should use, lol.

Hear, hear!

Silence?

Donald, I’m curious to see your comparison. The Takshaka did very well in the What’s best forum.

I’ll move it to MU2 after golf.

Stealth Cloude Grande LE is just added to MU2. It is too early to form an opinion, but it sounds quite different than Takshaka.

Hmm, that’s not a good sign. We usually get an opinion from you, Donald, within the travel time of the first dozen or so electrons!

Does your golf score affect how/what you hear and enjoy?

I am still excited from my great round of golf this morning, and that usually means any audio review will be invalid since everything sounds great to me. :wine_glass:

Any updates on CG LE?

prices may soon increase. 50% tariff coming to copper.

Do you want a short version, or a long one?

Short: you really really need it.
But that’s no news !

You are getting both, the short one:

Stealth CGLE wins, but I recommend SR Takshaka based on its performance/cost ratio.

The long one will follow.

Stealth Cloude Grande LE does something that is better than any power cable has done to my system; it threw a huge and enveloping soundstage that made my FR30 speakers completely disappear. The music seems to fill up every corner of my listening room. Interestingly, I did not get the same impression from Stealth Dream2020, and these two cables do not sound similar, surprisingly. But together they form a powerful and holographic presentation that is utterly enjoyable. CGLE also produced better details and clear-cut imaging than Dream 2020. The designer obviously knows his stuff to make these two power cords complement each other so well. With Dream 2020 at the power end (PowerZone) and CGLE at the source end (MU2), it is a dreamy combination that may even deserve their asking prices, if you have an equally staller system to match.

If this sounded like I like Stealth CGLE overall performance better than Snake River Takshaka, you will be right. However, Takshaka PC has its own magic tricks too, and the magic comes from its midrange. Takshaka has a sweet and warm midrange that is almost tubelike, and the vocals are especially engaging. In comparison, the vocals from CGLE sounded a bit dry and lean. This is not to say that CGLE midrange is not great, but it is more like a solid-state sound than from a tube-like sound.

Both cables exhibit great details and textures, but CGLE seems to offer even better transparency. CGLE sounded cleaner and quieter consistently, so I was able to listen deeper into the music. On the other hand, with Takshaka at MU2 I got more intimacy and enjoyment from my favorite albums involving vocals.

Every top-line cable has its strong suit from my experience, and there is no exception to these two. I also found most of the topline cables can work well together. I have no problem mixing them and often prefer to put them together. To prove this point, I moved Takshaka to LHY SW-10pro replacing AQ Dragon. This turned out to be another step up in sound quality. In fact, AQ Dragon has a cool and leaner sound that I do not think would gel with CGLE. Takshaka at SW-10pro plus CGLE at MU2 produced a sweeter midrange without losing any other magic, and this is how I like the most.

The next substantial improvement, of course, will be the arrival of Gryphon D333. I do not plan to make any comparison to M1200. I mean, what will be the point for that?
