Hoppy Cake Day :index_pointing_at_the_viewer: :rabbit:

Happy day!

After a week with the new STEALTH Cloude Grande Limited Edition (CG LE) I’m able to report my initial impressions.

It replaced a Cloude Grande (CG) feeding the Innuos Statement NG server/streamer.

Generally all STEALTH power cords need a few weeks of running-in before revealing their beauty, even in this case I think it is necessary to wait some more time. Every day in use I can easily notice an improvement in fact.

Secondly, all the STEALTH power cords I have experienced have some characteristics in common: they do not add coloration, they do not have a specific sound signature. This time things might be different, I’m afraid.

The CG LE was described as an evolution of the CG model, designed to provide a more “analytical” sound. That is true IME.

I’m familiar with Dream 20-20, Dream V18 UNI and Digital and all of them sound pretty neutral, while the CG family tends to be more “open” and “detailed” - in a good way.

When I plugged the CG LE the very first few hours, I certainly heard more clarity and transparency: the sound was detailed, open and increased in definition. What did puzzle me, however, was a hint of brightness that seemed fatiguing in the higher range of the spectrum. My immediate concern was that I would not like the cable and would find myself regretting this latest purchase.

I thought: hey, you know STEALTH cables, this can’t be true… give it more time. Keep calm and move on!

Fortunately, by the second day all doubts had vanished. That kind of (annoying) brightness that was tiring me had already completely disappeared, maintaining all the rest of the air and freshness of this cable that I was enjoying so much. Day after day things got better in every areas.

Now the CG LE is sounding very nice, it is certainly revealing (the famous veil lift once again) and open, but not harsh or analytical or clinical. Not at all! On the contrary it appears to me well balanced and natural, voices are presented accurately with a sense of realism that is really involving. Even the bass has improved, becoming faster and more pleasant, losing that grain of reverb or emphasis that before could seem less in tune overall. The richness and organic feel of the sound is exactly what I expect from STEALTH power cables, no further description needed.

It also brought me to change the settings on my GRID and EMI protectors, now both are set to “0” position, without the SMPS plugged in.

At the end of the day the result brought by the CG LE is a general equilibrium, a better overall balance, all things seem at the right place in a more pleasant big picture, the image is focused, the rhythm is engaging and there is more accuracy along all the frequency spectrum. It looks like the first sunny day of spring after a long grey winter.

And it’s still growing and growing…

Here below a few numbers comparing the previous CG vs the new CG LE:

Luca … thanks for the update.
Part of it is slightly confusing, (in my estimate), you start off saying “This time things might be different, I’m afraid.”, so it looks like a upfront statement stating you’re not happy, …but later you clarify that everything works out great?

Sorry for the confusion.

My initial sentence is related to the fact that this cable doesn’t work like the other STEALTH power cords I’m used to, I mean it has in my opinion its own “signature” or “strength” or “impact”. Is this a bad thing? Absolutely no!

As explained in the following part of my comments its impact is positive (after a few hours).

In any case, I would be cautious before adding other CG LE cables to my system, the synergy is optimal now and I would avoid the risk of altering that balance. This has never happened with other cables such as the Dream 20-20 or the Normal Cloude Grande.
