Looking for the best sound quality potential where power output (watts) is not an issue. Both the Stellar Strata MkII and the M700 monoblocks will dive my speakers (ZU DW6) with ease. I’m looking for the best sound quality potential - Stellar Strata MkII or a pair of older M700 Monoblocks?
Can’t speak for the Stellar Strata, but the M700 sounded a bit too “sharp” with my Zu Omen Def Supreme. I would caution you to listen to them before purchasing. It’s either going to be absolutely perfect for you or you might have the same experience as I did in my setup (and in my room).
The M700s are better amp v amp. I have both a Strata (MKI) and M700s and the Strata preamp and DAC are pretty good (I did replace the Strata with an Grimm Audio MU2). I have not heard the Stellar Gold DAC but I’m sure if paired with a good preamp and M700s it will be better than the Strata.
I believe the SG DAC is superior to that in the Strata Mkii, but you also would be looking at about double the total cost with the separates.

Thanks for the comments all. The difference in price really wasn’t a factor, just the sound. I decided to pick up the pair of M700’s I was looking at because I know I do love the sound of these amps. The Gold Dac I’m still not sure of so I may look at other pre-amps/Dacs.
