Stillpoints Aperature II

I just started using Stillpoints Aperature II mounted on their Aperature II Stands. I have them sitting right up to and along side my FR30’s. I wanted to take care of that first reflection point, but this tool has really amazed me of it’s job performance.

Please attach a photo that shows your setup so I can see the installation. I’m really interested.

I use 4 Aperature II panels on the front wall and 2 panels on the rear wall to great results!

The subs look like the REL 212/sx. That’s what I have and was wondering what platforms are under them. Any comments on their performance? Thanks.

Got my left and right FR30’s with the Stillpoints right up along side the speakers.

FRO, Wow!!! I love your listening room. What speakers are those? It’s beautiful.

Exactly what I wanted to see. Thank you.

Think they are called EVP isolation pads - completely decouple subs from the floor

I’ll search them out. Thanks for the info.

I’m no expert in acoustic treatments, but those panels look like they’re too close to the speakers. I would think they would diminish the soundstage width.

Stillpoints Aperature II at trackingangle.com gives some starting placments and the results for his test room. Experiment with the type of room may yield your best results. I might try something different later.

Well it’s now been a month of moving my aperture 2 all around the room and also tweaking the toe angle at the same time. I kept to the stands only was trying to force them to work and fooling myself that one song sounds right, but I knew that all is really not right. I found advice by the company and also AI to place it on the front and rear wall, but my resisting and fighting it finally caved in. My side wall distance is far enough that first reflection will not distort my brain or so says AI. So I finally completed mounting front and back walls and I finally understand what a properly corrected room is supposed to sound like. I ended up using one stand with only one panel on it and my toe in is around 3 to 5 degrees. My subs had to be tweaked because my bass came way up and at times were distorting with a big bass bump. OMG my bass really came to life.
