A few compilations of material I already have were in a lot of Carmen McRae cds I bought from eBay (cheap). This one really does sound good and is nicely selected and sequenced.
(Dr.) Lonnie Smith “Gotcha” Groove Merchant/Solid Records cd Japan
That sort of “Stuff” (the band)/CTI/KUDU not quite disco sound. Some really nice guitar bass and Lonnie Smith sounds.

What appears to be an amazing Don Byas set is available for pre-order from Mosaic Records today:
I was just talking with @weedeewop about my tendency these days to only pick up the more rare recordings from Mosaic. This one really might fit the bill
I’ve bought them all when announced this century. Have never been disappointed. I used to be pickier last century, but I regret missing a few.
I seemed to be on a Blue Note jag so I continued with one of the most unique titles in the label history, Eddie Gale’s “Black Rhythm Happening” . . . a sort of Sun Ra-esque partial family affair, with Elvin Jones powering it along. A record that I grow fonder and fonder of as time goes on (and perhaps I grow whackier).
This is the 75th Anniversary cd from Blue Note Japan.
Beautiful music that has become a part of my DNA. Perhaps my favorite mastering.
