John Butcher with synth and electronics.
My kind of line-up! Unfortunately I missed the release.
A nice addition to my Horace Tapscott Pan-Afrikan Peoples Arkestra collection, Live at I.U.C.C. 9/30/79. This being a continuation of the Nimbus CD reissue subscription series. Leland’s Song and A Call for Truth stand out upon initial listen. The former reminds me of William Parker’s work with Leena Conquest, for example Corn Meal Dance. The Arkestra covers Horace Tapscott’s Song for My Father, a piece I generally favor, but this version includes vocals that to my ear are a bit flat. Glad to have this subscription series even if the releases tend to be a bit sporadic.

Lovely new release on the Orenda Records label - unfamiliar with this LA-based outfit, I will need to dig into their catalog.
Couple of Anthony Braxton collaborators here.
Jacqueline Kerrod: Lyon & Healy Concert Grand Pedal Harp
Taylor Ho Bynum: Cornet, Double-Belled Cornet, Flugelhorn, Mutes
