Have yet to listen to it, how is Threadgill’s energy on this latest Zooid?
Of all Threadgill’s bands I think I like Zooid the best. Only five players, and the music is more focused and approachable for me than (for example) his Very Very Circus or Double Up groups .
Threadgill never lacks energy, sometimes I don’t dig how he channels it…I like this set a lot, mainly short pieces that I assume are written rather than improvised. Liberty Ellman is great as always.

I have held off on adding this to my record collection having the individual as well as single Blue Note CD versions of the album. The performance is excellent, up their with Matador, and Quiet Kenny. As far as the sonics, well it smokes my CD versions entirely in glorious mono.
