I discovered Gregor Hilden early last summer, and his albums—especially this one—have remained at the top of my rotation ever since. I can’t get enough of it. The dynamics are compelling, and the rhythmic feel is consistently engaging.
A sublime recording, which is not surprising given that this jazz guitar trio album was recorded at the Samurai Hotel in Queens, NY (on Dec. 21, 2023). Based on its website, I think it is fair to say that this recording studio cares about sound quality.

IMO, a stellar recording of some mesmerizing guitar work on this John Coltrane composition …

He’s excellent. Youthful, creative and full of well controlled energy.
I realized I saw him in NYC a while ago with one of my favorite drummers, Antonio Sanchez and saxophonist Will Vinson.
