I installed Sunlight, without a hitch. Started listening to music on Monday night. I did not noticed an increased in volume, like somebody mention earlier. By Thursday, noticed that the sound had a bigger soundstage, it was cleaner and tracks that I know by memory that I played like: Melody Gardot(Over the Rainbow),Anette Askvik (Liberty),Stevie Ray Vaughn (Tin Pan Alley), Brian Bromberg (The Saga of Harrison Crabfeathers), amongst other tunes, sounded fantastic, awesome!! My Direcstream had a new life and a new breath of air,
With all good there is something not good to report. That could be a single incident that maybe affects me. My system is set with ROON managing my music and goes to an RS8 ROC (4 Tara bytes storage), feeding via USB to a Matrix, from the Matrix, it goes via I2S to the Directstream. I did not had any DSD 256 tunes, to verify the Directstream showed on the screen the actual 256. Whats happening I think is when I play tracks of DSD 256, on the screen it shows DSD 128.
I do not know if ROON is downgrading it from 256 to 128.
Anybody has a clue in what to try???
