@Brodric - for some different information - Shunyata Research is only changing D6000S from V1 to V2, not D6000T or D2000T. The beta testers are using D6000S (rack mounted), not “T” tower… I’m bummed out… also asked about internal upgrade and that is also off the table

I know. D2000 is discontinued. The T version might get a V2 status in due course, but it already has some aspects of the V2 upgrade (eg the anti-vibration feet). Internal upgrades are out, probably because the stuff is now all hermetically sealed inside.

@Brodric - salesman and production manager did not say the D2000 is being discontinued. On the contrary, it is one of the better sellers… IDK on the hermetically sealed, production manager said they don’t usually do upgrades like that… as a normal course of business… anyway, THU will tell if I return it… I am also A/Bing the Sigma NR against the SR Anaconda to see if I hear the difference. Have to ship it back to thecableco library late next week. Will be in LA so will ask for extension.

For sure D2000 is discontinued. Caelin Gabriel said so himself.

@Brodric - OK, then that is that, thanks… helps with my decision. Not getting a D6000 S or T so if it is not OMG, it is going back… I have a lot of experiments so it will be fun, none the less

Some of their products are factory upgradeable, eg Triton/Typhon. But they don’t have hermetically sealed gizzards.

@Brodric - OK, thanks… my first touch with their components, just done power cables to date. I didn’t get the feeling talking to the production manager, they did custom work. Upgrades yes, this would be custom… they are not upgrading the D2000T. I even asked if they could customize it… not a fan of 8ga internal…

@hthaller - for 12 absorbers/diffusors, at the price of (2) of my power cables, they are a bargain and very easy to work with. In addition, they shipped early. There are a lot of other more expensive options that don’t deliver on time. So far, I’m satisfied with the construction, the communication, the follow through. First day they helped; need more time to sort out the extent of the help…

Hey Cardri,

Keep dialing in the room acoustic treatments. Done right, it will be the most effective accessory you purchase. Quick question though, why didn’t you run the Tube Traps in the front corners full length floor to ceiling? You’ve completely missed out on bass trapping the lower tri-corners and the tri-corners are the most important points in the room when it comes to reducing low frequency modal messiness.

@MTB_Vince - A conversation with the CEO of REL. I had the ASC 16in “isothermal” traps extended 9.5ft., floor to ceiling. According to the manufacturer of the bass traps, highest pressure area is at the ceiling. So, had them all the way from floor to ceiling for months. Added subs, listened to them moving the subs all around and discussed with John and built the shelf. After a month of listening to them off the floor, love the decision. Rooms are funny… not always what you think… and the room has complex geometry you must have missed in the drawing above.

Hey Cardri, I did actually spend a fair amount of time looking at the line drawing of your room and the accompanying description. I stand by my comments about room tri-corners being the first targets for bass trapping as would any room acoustics guru I’ve ever spoken to. I use tube traps in my room too BTW. Kindly excuse the mess. Pics were shot while in the midst of a major system revision.

@MTB_Vince - WOW, that is amazing. Great work! Thanks for all of your insight and analysis, I really appreciate the time you took helping me.

@ jamesh… The Oris horns are amazing. I have made the entire cycle from SET & horns to KRELL high power amplification and Wilson speakers and now back to the start of horn speakers and a whapping 7W SET. Yes a 20 year journey. For me dynamics trump imaging. With 104 dB sensitive speakers I am chasing background hum and am looking at ways to quite the BHK Pre.

not sure why i’m posting this. Listening to Edgar Meyer late at night, and it just sounds so good. So i snapped a snap.

OK, I have an issue with Mr Batman. We already have a virtual mandatory following with Mr Elephant. I think you should get with the program and dispense Mr Batman back to Gotham City.

there’s a sheep. is that anything?

In Tiny Zoo when you breed a sheep with Batman you end up with a New Zealander. And that’s worse :joy: So Mr Sheep should follow Mr Batman back to Gotham City so we can restore some military uniformity around here with the Elephant.

ok i’ll see if i can find one hiding in the house

Write to my friend here. It his speaker.

More love Denmark

I did some upgrades/updates/changes and rearranged a bit - so I wanted to share:

  • Pass XP-17 phono preamp (replacing Musical Fidelity MX Vynl)
  • Iconoclast OFE 4x4 XLR interconnects (replacing Vovox textura XLR IC Balanced, now used with the phono system) to connect DirectStream Sen. to XP-22 line level preamp
  • Furutech wall outlets for active speakers and system
  • Isonoe Audio Isolation System replacing the original Technics feet
  • added another butcher block under the ATC speakers to bring the midrange speaker to ear level
  • swapped the ATCs (left/right) to bring tweeter/mids on the outside

Sounds better than ever – digital and analog –
