The Grimm MU2

It is my opinion that you can stay with the Omega.

Thank you and Luca for recommending Muon Pro for so long, and I finally did it. Stealth is still in my mind for next year.

I agree with Al, once you receive the Muon Pro cable try it from Orbi to SW6 upstream, replacing your current ethernet cable. Don’t know if it worth the money in that “upstream” set up but you can try and listen before sending it back.

Congrats, enjoy your new toy and be patient, it takes a few days to open up the sound.

Congrats and it will get noticeably better in the next days. You also got to try different places where it might work the best in your specific setup. Also the direction is something you might play around.

Very glad to join the Muon club. I’m running MU2 day and night for the next few days to help the break-in process.

Once my streaming cable arrives, I will take Luca’s suggestion to place it between SW-6 and satellite. After break-in I will try reverse Omega and Muon direction because some members here like this arrangement (against N.A’s recommendation).

Well, that’s it, my epic with the final setup of all functions, transferring music to the hard drive, restoring playlists from a backup copy and setting up the remote control is over. Thank you all very much for your advice. It’s a bit tricky, but everything went as planned and now works great. With a wired connection from the computer to the router, transferring 2 TB took about 4 hours.

Well, and the most important thing regarding the sound. This is a qualitative leap up! I had concerns that I would not hear a strong change, it’s good that they were not justified. The main improvements concern the increase in detail, naturalness and plasticity of the sound. Accordingly, the quality of positioning of instruments and performers has greatly increased. With all these positive changes in the sound, I also managed to free up space from my Nucleus Plus. I am very pleased with the result.

People seem to like the MU2.

And MU2 seems to love Muon Pro. On the 2nd day Muon opened up, and the sound is indeed nice!

I will let it run overnight again to get prepared for tomorrow’s family gathering. Of course no one will care about the sound quality. I hope some will notice that I have a new pair of speakers  :wine_glass:

Time to brine the turkey and do cranberry sauce, they will pay more attention to food for sure.

The understatement of 2024
I was thinking of creating my own “product of the year” category for 2024 audio purchases, with the MU2 tied for 1st.

The Muon Pro has been in the system for four day running non-stop with MU2, and I am excited to hear what changes it will bring today (too early to turn on the amps yet). The menu said it needs 150 hours for the “dull sound” to disappear. Nice, and I have not experienced any dull sound since the 2nd day🍷

FedEx will deliver AQ Dragon Jumpers today, and I’ll use them for the upper boxes of FR30, but I’m thinking I may wait for a couple days for Muon to break in more. But I am not known for patience so I will sneak them in to get a taste at least. My two other grounding boxes will be here next week and I’m already thinking I need different grounding cables🤔

Are you still using M1200s as amps?

Sure, I like light wight Class D😆

Paul hinted that they’re working on the next generation of amps, and that got me excited. I know they’re not Class D, but I’ll take switched mode. I can’t handle anything over 100 lbs let alone any Gryphon.

These are nice, really nice! I’ll get them if I were single, or I’ll become single after getting them. Thanks for showing me this though.

I figured you could fly the family to Singapore, inspect and buy these, and ship them home quietly. They may have golf there as well.

The ad says no low ball offer, sigh🙁

The BHK 600’s are only 8 pounds more than your threshold. The refurbished price deal is a steal. Go to the gym as well as the golf course.
Seriously, if you run full range, I cannot conceive of a better match for the FR30’s. Class A could best it by a smidge but it lacks the horses…at any listening level.

The BHK600 makes more sense, and after paying tax I will see how much penny I have left for audio upgrades in 2025.

Refurbished BHK600? Either I missed it or they were sold out. I am waiting for the next big sale (or announcement of their new amps).
