I still have my old CJ gear. I tried the PV10AL preamp after getting the MU2 (and after also recently getting the GAT-S2), and the PV10 completely ruined and negated the benefits of the MU2. Same with my old CJ MV55 amp. So they are out of the system.
Several of us on this forum have found that the MU2 is at a much higher sound quality level than other gear in our system.
Several of us have made changes to our systems, both before and after hearing the MU2 in our systems.
The GAT NEEDS to stay. The $24k tube preamp combined with an $18k DAC/streamer play nicely together.
This combination, with the 5302 amp are magical with the FR20, the LRS+, and even the Infinity Modulus.
Well, I returned the âborrowedâ MU2. Good thing the MU2 I purchased arrived 5 days ago, as once Iâve heard a decent DAC in my system it would be tough going without.
The MU2, in my system, sounds so good I just canât stop listening. Streaming music through the connected Qobuz/Roon/MU2 is addicting, and sounds nice too. Have just begun what others have been doing for a while, finding new music because of Roon.
I noticed when I played Qobuz through MU2 whether it is 96/24 or 44.1/16, the MU2 will display 96/32 or 44.1/32. Does anyone else have this issue? I remember it did not do this before.
The MU2 upsamples everything it plays. There are no settings to adjust to change this. Itâs a feature not a bug. Try to accept this as it is in your best interest to do so. Think of it as having two switches for one connection.
This is different from mine. Mine shows 44.1k/32. DSD256 display is fine. Very interesting because there is no adjustment that can be made on MU2. I will contact them to find out. Thanks.
