i used to install enterprise networks as far back as 1990 using ethernet, token ring, appletalk,etc.. Don’t waste your money on the so called ‘audiophile’ switches. Do this instead: i go out of my mesh router into an enterprise switch with a built in power supply, no walwart plug. I then go into my Airlens, then have a $1000 i2s cable going into my ps audio ds sr dac.
The biggest improvements are the Audioquest ethernet cables, using the enterprise switch, the airlens, and the i2s cable. I went from using ethernet into the ds sr dac to using the airlens and there wqs a big jump in performance.
I’ve heard a couple demos at audio shows that did a/b comparisons with audiophile switches and i preferred the sound ofnthe non-audiophile grade switches. I’ve also heard people state that some of these audiophile switches/clockers actually add more noise/jitter to the signal.
