I have never seen that graph very equal for left and right, maybe in an acoustic dead room and everything very symmetrical. I guess also you’re body shape should be taken in account. I wonder what Edgar has to explain on this topic.

@Hoku What version of MacOS does Edgar have you on? I know Edgar always says to wait for him to upgrade MacOS. But sometimes there are security upgrades.
My Mac has been warning since May that, “Support Ending for Intel-based Apps. This version of “BACCH-dSP” will not open in a future release of macOS…”
I have not bothered Edgar directly about this. I only wrote to the info-at-theoretica email back in May asking if there is a plan to address this. Of course, as usual, there was no response.
Here is my chart in a concrete bunker basement room with ceilings only 210cm (6ft-7in). This was with the windows closed in Winter. Main treatments for XTC are primary and secondary absorbers on the left and right. I usually get lower XTC numbers on the right. Have wondered if this is because there is more concrete right and more glass left.
Edgar usually comments that he can tell from the impulse response charts that I am getting untreated floor bounce. And I wonder maybe from the glass coffee table too.
Am not looking to do anything further with this room, as we are building a new house. New room will have 3+m (10+ft) ceilings. Will be concrete again though.
Question for any of you with solid floors, have you done anything for floor treatment?
Since I will have more vertical room height with which to play in the new room… and can build as high as I want up to zoning limits as the design is not yet fixed… am thinking about a false floor. Will involve a consultant eventually. But need to give the architect some direction sooner. Am just keeping to a 8x5x3 ratio in the assumptions. The present room is 7x4x2.
By the way, you should try to keep the first reflection points between the speaker and your listening position about 7 meters. Than the reflections arrive after 20 ms. 330 m/s * 20 ms = 6.6 meters. This to calculate the optimal room. After 20 ms the reflections are less important. A bigger room is of course always better, also against standing waves.
Not infront of computer atm but think tahoe 26.5.1 and am being told to install newer version by Mac - i get the same warning as well so will discuss with edgar if can… but same as you, no reply thus far
I find it hard to believe the current version of B4M software even runs on an Intel Mac. Do yourself a favor and buy a current machine.

I have learned things.
a. Electrostats make me believe piston powered tweeters exist just to prove it can be done. No reason otherwise. Sorry Dome Children, its nap time.
b. There is a metal plate on the back of each speaker. 5 inches by 10 inches. Do not touch it. It is very hot. Heatsinks and silent fans ordered.
c. Under no circumstances should you hit Bypass mode (with ORC enabled). After a particularly fine song you see you were in bypass mode. Now you get to turn on XTC and hear it again.
d. I can’t believe there are no subs involved.
And note the changes in ORC, instructed by Edgar.

For Edgar I bought an M4 in 2024. He loaded BACCH all fresh to that Apple Silicon machine then and did the update for Stratos last Autumn.
Error messages read like something old in his BACCH code from back when Macs ran on Intel is coming to the end of its Apple life.
Am curious if you can confirm that level. Wherever it is, you may want to leave it there until we hear from Edgar. Unless you are OK with going through what I just did.
I let my M4 Mini update from 26.4.1 to 26.5.2. Was a PITA to get BACCH up and running again. But after enough reboots and reopens it settled down. On the penultimate reboot, I had some digital clipping on the last track that I played just before updating MacOS. After the last reboot, it was OK again…
BTW, if the icon in the dock disappears becoming a question mark, open the applications page. The friendly BACCH icon should still be there. See first image below.

Yup Tahoe 26.5.1 and am being prompted to upgrade but still awaiting a reply from Edgar regarding the update. You had issues after upgrading to Tahoe 26.5.2?
Am having other Mac Mini+Roon issues (think a NAS would help, but Synology memory is unavailable so am waiting to get the DS225+ together with Synology HAT3300 or HAT3310 when available)
And hoping Maestro will get sorted before I become a full price Roon customer… although it is a pretty good product once you get used to it.
I have not upgraded my Mac ever. There is no need to unless instructed by Edgar. As long as Bacch works there is no reason to upgrade the OS since the Mac Mini’s only purpose is Bacch.
I believe when you use your Mac Mini for day to day general computer use staying current with the OS is a fine thing. But when your Mac Mini is dedicated to Bacch duties it is much less important. Edgar told me “don’t look for solutions when no problems exist”. In other words, leave well enough alone and don’t do OS updates.

Memory prices are just so ridiculous now that I refuse to buy any. The 8TB SSD that I got for 400 clams in 2023 is 1400 now. Easy for me to refrain though as already have 200TB in the house.
Should be better by mid 2027 when new capacity comes online, potentially just in time for new AI construction orders to drop.
If you have a spare 5-10 year old PC, laptop or Mac about, you can always attached a portable SSD and set up a Plex server in the house for the coming year. If you just use it in the house, then is free too. And although Plex apps will not play DSD, the file server will serve up DSD to streamers using a drive mapping.
PS: Yes, like the guys recommend, stay put at 26.5.1 where Edgar left you.
I hope so - was thinking just to get a Samsung T9 and attach to mac mini for playback as a stop gap.
I too bought an 8TB M2 SSD for $400. I would love to buy another one but I will wait until they are $400 again. The one I bought was a Western Digital Black which is a pretty nice piece.
Think I might buy this for now… attach to my Mac Mini for music library. Should sound fine because of B4M I think.
