Thanks Somppsa. I think the Bacch DSP is really a sea change in a way to appreciate recordings. Sure my system still sounds welcoming and wonderful without it. But the realism and an abcence of smearing caused by our listening space disappears. The dynamics and realism really jumps out as is how the recording was.
Now I know what my speaker designer Roger Russell stated about his experiences with my XR290 sounded like in the anechoic chamber whhen he was developing the design. He mentioned his last design the IDS-25 brought him back to what he heardwith the XR290 in the chamber while at McIntosh. There is absolutely a sense of everything with a sense of depth and space.nothing is obscured and images everywhere in the room.
Everything you read about the Bacch is believed upon first listen. I hope you can experience it it is a no brainer upgrade for anyones system with the tiered cost structure. Especially at the Macintosh computer levels. I hope you can experience it and find a way to try it in your system.
Thanks Al. Hopefully the cable raising is a lasting upgrade. Thanks for helping me enjoy my slice of cake following your experiences, recommendations and rabbit adventures.
Thanks Vern. I will probably never rest. At least not until I try disabling this Bacch4Mac Mini’s SMPS. Always when I stop and listen i manage to hear something i think can be improve or think of an area whose design begs for another adjustment adventure. So far there’s been plenty of individuals here to give me inspiration and ideas to try next. So passing on my improvements that move the needle helps fuel the passion for better listening.
I repaired the cable. I cut out the bad length, stripped the wires, soldered, heat shrinked, (Twice) and plugged the cable in. The Commander refuses to acknowledge power. Sigh.
But the BACCH-SP adio works swell as a Preamp.
I guess I need to drive my gear to Chicago. Boo Hiss.
