I might have to.
anyone know if the Mac software solution works with Jriver as the server? I might have asked this previously.
This is getting frightening. When the DAC in the BACCH seemed no different than the Ethos I thought huh. But tonight I am not missing the mighty Gryphon Commander Preamp. WT@F?
Demons!
Maybe this is what George meant when he thought you were making a mistake with using the adio. ![]()
He does not approve.
I got the cables, power supplies should not matter speech by Edgar today when discussing the Babyface. He told me to prove it, I’d need to compare and calculate standard deviation of 25 Bacch DSP plots with and without external supplies taken in an anechoic chamber. My human brain will make me hear what I want to hear. Slight variations in head positions even make A/B/X useless. Well i still hear a difference without sophisticated statistical analysis. But he said it is all good. The brain hearing connection can be weird he said it is possible to not hear Bacch 3D some days for some people even himself. It’s an area that will probably never be understood
He seems nice.
By the way, @paul172 gets the credit for bringing all this to my attention. A week after he told me about the BACCH, one popped up on Audiogon at a nice discount.
I found out from Edgar they are developing a binaural DSP module to provide a head-tracking DSP that will address frequency along with time domain issues of crosstalk. All Bacch DSP customers with Audiophile and above hardware will be receiving the software module at no additional cost. Will release as soon as testing completes this year. He claims it will be the best available solution out there. Though they hesitated offering it because their core business is crosstalk cancellation and don’t want to be know as a DSP option. All other DSP systems algorithms for frequency correction will not come close to the Bacch Binaural, since they have been performing lab comparisons
It will good to see this market challenged. I have yet to hear frequency/time correction I like.
Neither had Edgar.
According to Edgar they provide support for Jriver as well as most other streaming apps.
This is away better experience on Bacch4Nac.feeding the DS Mkw2 than just DSMK2.
There is so much mor going on with cross talk cancelled
Did you get past your procrastination?
Good one!
At the end of the song there is am undercurrent of percussive noise and shifting of the mucsians. Revealing is an understatement.
No, I am still nurturing that particular wavering. I’m getting fond of it. I fed it, groomed it, and read to it earlier today.
spooky
Well after 5 days of calling edgar to fix it. I am finally getting the hang of it. He eschews user documentation on th Bacch4Mac since there are so many different system configurations and software update incompatible possibilities. The basic is likely more forgiving. The integrated solution has lots of opportunities to hang. The adio and dio Bacch SP is set up for consistency.
Edgar has lots of patience and is available quickly.
But dang when you get this thing rolling it is pure bliss.
I have been trialing letting Bacch4Mac set a filter with my RoomPerfect DSP off then engage. Versus RoomPerfect focus set then Bacch4Mac DSp. It is close but doing Bacch4 Mac DSP first might have an edge.
This is what I’ve been wondering. I was getting the impression that the BACCH4MAC might be a little finicky. I am going to be interested in learning from you and others about what it’s like once you have settings you like, if it remains stable and doesn’t require handholding.
For instance, if you reboot the Mini does everything just start working or do you have to do something?
For us: restart Mac Mini, then start BACCH, then start Roon and then enjoy ![]()
You can have BACCH and Roon start automatically if you want
