There is a pull down menu to auto configure settings. It has six selections I believe. I will take a photo and share the options I use the BFPRO&DAC. I will photo the other selections to see what it is also capable of in standard configurations. I am sure Edgar could program and offer others.
Can you post a printscreen of the output options as well?
Here are selections with my unit. Interesting i have MX150 HT processor. Looks like I can get audio and video. The primary play decice is the DSMk2 DAC.
That scares the H*** out of me.
It is at least 20 times friendlier than DS MK2 user Interface
LOL!!
Good one.
Ha!
Waaay too simple for me
Best wishes
The auto configuration if it doesnât play or restart of roon or the restart macintosh will usually suffice.
Edgar sets you up with screen prints of settings in case a configuration is changed inadvertently. Then one only has to ensure visual comparison and reengage correct settings. Any problem I encounter I seem to be able to self resolve. .
I think I am starting to begin to appreciate this BACCH stuff.
Soon I will form an opinion. Then itâs on to the next thing.
So last night I had a friend over for her first listen. I played some vinyl and she picked up on what the system was capable of. I handed her an IPad to take control of Roon. For over two hours she picked track after track that used everything the system could offer.
Plus I had the subs powered on and set to stun.
It was nice.
I feel like these are the opening lines of a mystery novel.
I got a phone call and accidentally hit save.
Oh, too bad, I liked it the way it was. Far more intriguing.
I pulled the trigger today for the audiophile version
Now I have two tasks until I receive everything:
-
Look for a coaxial to optical converter.
-
Define what extra cables I need for the connection: Aurender - BabyFace - Mac Mini - MKII.
If you have any recommendations, I would appreciate it.
You should be very happy with your BACCH4Mac purchase! Regarding your questions:
1.) I bought an iFi SPDIF iPurifier2 with the hope of using it to connect my PST (coax) to the BabyFace (optical). Unfortunately, the connection was noisy and I havenât been able to determine if itâs a misapplication of the iFi device or something else. If others have used this device successfully with the PST, that would be good to know.
2.) For the audiophile configuration, youâll receive a USB cable for connecting the BabyFace to your Mac Mini. Youâll need to provide a cable to connect the Mac Mini to your MK2. Iâm using a Shunyata Omega USB cable. In my best impersonation of Alâs understated style, âIt sounds nice.â
Are you using your Aurender to stream via Roon? If so, Edgar will likely recommend you run the Roon Daemon on the Mac Mini instead. Prior to getting BACCH, I used an Auralic Aires G1 as a Roon end point to stream Tidal and Qobuz as well as access a NAS. The Auralic is now collecting dust. I was pleasantly surprised to not detect any sonic difference between running Roon on the Mac Mini versus using the Auralic as a Roon end point.
Hi, yes I am happy with the purchase and waiting for the days to pass for it to arrive. I currently donât use Roon, so I have to define how to get out of Aurender (coaxial or USB) and from there connect to BabyFace.
@Vmax recommended me coax to optical. Theoretica recommends me USB to optical, through a converter. and there I also have doubts because there are several options.
There are RME devices that do the job and will take coax, it doesnât have to be a Babyface.
The detail is that I already bought the package with the headphones and the Baby face.
The Wyred4Sound Remedy is an excellent reclocker (96/24 output and FS clocking) but not cheap.
[Iâm surprised that the ifi SPDIF thingy isnât as good and a lot cheaper]
