You don’t get ORC with the introductory Software Package. ORC requires hardware and microphones. With what you have you get a taste of what is possible. If you get hungry enough you step up the Bacch4Mac Audiophile version. If you do that before March 13 you get ORC for free. After that it costs $1,000. Edgar will give you the money you spent thus far if you upgrade, so you are probably good.
No big deal.
Anybody got andvice on utilizing the crossover software? Trying to determine if I’m hungry enough to continue investing.
Still waiting for my BACCH to arrive but I bought it just as an option to try and add time corrected subs crossed over so the mains and subs dont fight with each other. The way my system sounds right now I may never use the crossover though.
Not having multiple amps I never played with the crossover stuff. Sorry.
Having been in software since the 90s, I don’t envy the set-up process “required”.
Also no experience in the cross-over section of the software. But may I ask what are trying to achieve?
With the miniDSP SHD it will split the output for you so you can send the low freqs to plate amped subs. The ADIO also has that capability.
Enlightenment of the ears.
After a brief talk with Edgar, it sounds as if it’s more for the bi-amping folks, perhaps with the ability to manipulate several channels and crossovers, in that way.
That was my understanding hence my “not having multiple amps” comment.
Yep. That is what I did. 4k
My retirement present to myself.
You may of said what you ordered in another thread but what model did you go with?
The ADIO. I dont need another preamp or DAC but curiosity is a powerful force.
I believe you made the right choice! Al loves his and I have heard it pre ORC and it’s impressive!
I tried Legacy Wavelet, MiniDSP and didn’t work for me so I sold them. Anyone know if I can resell the Bacch4Mac if it turns out to be not suitable for me?
Sure, you won’t have any trouble selling a BACCH4Mac setup if you become the first person ever to not like it and wish to do so. It’s a bargain for what it costs. Especially now with Room Correction. It’s an absolute no-brainer.
Under $7K for the Audiophile version. All hardware comes in a surprisingly small attache. You can use the DAC in the BabyFace Pro, it’s fine. To me it’s priced the same as a PS Audio PST or MK2. I believe its contributions to a system are on par or maybe a bit higher than those two pieces. It’s less than a very good streamer. It can actually serve Roon as well as its other duties. A streamer might not even be required. A fine DAC is required.
It just wakes up a room so well and is always a treat to listen to. You focus on music and less on what’s next in the tweaks department.
I can’t wait for @luca.pelliccioli to get one. He will be a giggly mess.
Just when I recently declared that I’m 100% happy with my setup, after many years of tweaking. I literally just put my money into photography instead (Leica M11), even before the camera is delivered, we have this, I’m so curious My cost will need to include a MAC too though. Maybe I can find someone locally to give this a try until I can save up the fund for it. - Thanks.
Edit a question on latency, I do watch alot of music videos… enjoy both the visual and audio aspect of it… Can the Baach4MAC perform the processing fast enough to not create audio sync problem to the video? It’s one of the reason I can’t use HQPlayer in my setup, it’s just takes too long to do the processing.
Sorry, I have no response for that question. I have zero video in my system. That is a different room.
I have no trouble using BACCH4MAC with viewing concerts on medici.tv - no sync problems
Today is my last day @ work forever.
