When swapping out inductors one must also match the dcr value as well as the inductance or level changes and Q of tge circuit will change!
Itās not just about high notes. Iām currently testing capacitors in the midrange. Even in parallel with a woofer, there are differences in sound between the different capacitors. Something is also happening in the depth and width of the stage. I also have Mundorf EVO oil, these are pretty decent for their price. Dynamically not as great a depth and spaciousness as the upper Supreme. The EVO oil is more pleasant than the EVO without oil. They tend to have a slightly brighter, slightly thinner sound higher up your scale. With a 68 uF EVO Oil, a Supreme Silver Oil 0.68 uF as a bypass ensured that the sound appeared less nervous and smoother in tone.
Itās not just about the price. The right capacitor in the right place. The Rƶderstein KP 1836 I mentioned is available for a few thalers. I paid ā¬1.50 for it. And this works well as a bypass.
I changed to a lower DCR inductor on a pair of speakers, but the designer did approve of it. He used higher DCR inductors to make the speaker easier to drive, but it comprised the low frequencies slightly.
