UPDATE: Wyred For Sound DAC2 DSDse & PS Audio PWD2

@birddogthecat you are a funny dude. Lmao. I do see them from time to time.

I also see a small copper tube with a screw through holding a cover on. Even though there maybe 8 screws. But only one copper tube.

Who knows lol

Al

They are for EMI. Called grounding fingers, they electrically attach the top cover to the chassis ground. They are a pain in the ass for us but we never would pass CE emissions testing without them. I am not sure you’d hear anything but you can sure see the results on an EMI measurement scope.

So, Christopher, you’ll have to wear your foil hat and never turn your PWD on in-flight without the finger doohickeys.

@wglenn Good safety tip!

@wglenn - eegads - TSA and FAA with regulatory oversight on my PWD?

@David: Next “They” will be watching often you play David Bowie… B-) B-) B-)

I just noticed I put “EMF” in for “EMI” earlier. Back to Physics 101!

I am a physics teacher in real life. I will be most happy to hold a tutorial for you. So far, I have not noticed any personal health side effects from the emissions. However, Shiloh The Golden Retriever Beach Bum - his hair is sticking straight up! EMI...you think?

It is the only reasonable explanation.

No, that would be more like EMF. :-SS

@wglenn Well, it’s something - Gel? Is he getting his hair Gelled-up for surf season?

It could be scalar waves from a Schumann resonator but I doubt it. It’s kinda cold for Gordon to show up in your neck of the woods.

(and I know where he’s hiding)

I hope that if Gordon did visit Thailand, all is going well given the unrest there.

He did and, yes, I hope that he is far from Bangkok now.

My PWT and PWD do not have these in the chassis as they were version 1 beta units when I bought them. PWD long since updated to PWD II. I have had no problems with opening them to gain access for replacing fuses which I did twice, now using SR 20 Quantum fuses and love them. EMI is very readily noted. Perhaps this is why both my units without these grounding chassis EMI clips sound so dramatically better with two Shakti stabilizers underneath each one to soak up that exposure. Odd

aah chuuuuuu @birddogthecat

your funny man lol
