My Jay’s CDT2 must be burned in now because it sounds really really good. Must also be the DSD MK1 that Kurt modded and sold to me.
So glad those components are working well for you Ron.
I’m in a similar boat so to speak. Absolutely love my new Rega Naia, Aphelion 2 cart and Aura pre, but I’m also still blown away by how good the Jay’s CDT3-3 and Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC sound when fed a well-engineered CD.
IMO the Jay’s CDT3 Mk3 is an overachiever.
Nothing like the expense and inconvenience of a cd collection, am I right?
Which pales in comparison to the expense and inconvenience of a Vinyl record collection.
My LP collection likely trumps my CD collection. It is a fetish.
Perfect sound forever
Vinyl and cd are truly apples and oranges for me, I prefer one or the other for particular reasons.
I love my PerfectWave SACD transport and it gets the most use, I also have about 40 times more digital discs.
I love the sound of my digital rig. I listen to CDs and streaming quite often.
But there’s something about the sound of my vinyl rig that I find soothing, nourishing.
Which pales in comparison to the expense and inconvenience of a reel-to-reel tape collection😩
…but nothing compares to the sound produced!
I have DSD’s that were made from reel-to-reel tapes. Does that count? LOL
(I can hear tape hiss)
Which pales in comparison to how convoluted a digital signal chain can get when streaming files from your network and/or the internet…
But it sure is fun; and it sure sounds good!
Convoluted? MU2 streamer to MU2 DAC. No cables between the two as they are both in the same chassis. Easy.
No…it has to be MUCH more complicated to really sound good!
By the way, what have you got going on upstream of the MU2 streamer in the signal path?
I have the MU1 on my watch list. If one shows up on the used market at a price I can accommodate, might have to give it a spin.
Cheers.

George at Kyomi Audio.
Thanks…going to have to wait until they get a bit longer in the tooth. Still too highly priced for my budget.
Now an MU2 at the price…Well that would be something!
