Car surfsce before washing, and after washing and applying/buffing Jescar Ultra PowerLock. I should note that I apply Jescar to an older vehicle, and is great for making the color pop, but use a much lighter-weight product on a newer vehicle and without a buffing machine.

last weekend i took the cayman to a porsche driver education event at Brainerd Int’l Raceway.

Holy crap what an awesome experience. Drive with an instructor and spend all weekend learning the car, the course, and your limits.

Loved it.

Awesome number (does not go un-noticed by me - owner of a couple of 901s). I used to be a PCA instructor, then I decided it was not fun to be strapped as a passenger where I had no control except for screaming at the drivers!

yep, i picked 901 as my permanent number for the Minnesota Autocross group a few years back (surprised it wasn’t taken!), and I made magnetic decals for the doors.

They assigned different numbers for the porsche weekend but since I already had these (and nobody else had the number on the track), they had no problem with me sporting that number.

I replaced my 1992 BMW R100RT with the Moto Guzzi V100S. The BMW was a perfect classic bike but the 32 year newer Guzzi is a revalation to ride. Should be with 32 more years of tech but WOW, I thought the R100RT would be better somewhere. Nope, it is pefectly happy living in a 32 year old time capsule.

I need to find a home with a classic bike lover for the R100RT. I have room for one.

I always thought Guzzi’s were pretty but that is stop me in my tracks gorgeous. Beautiful paint scheme. It also looks like it isn’t a torture rack.

It probably won’t be as easy to tinker with as the RT but hopefully you won’t need to. I had an ‘04 RT that I finally, and happily parted ways with at 98K that was very needy of constant attention. My mistake was buying it at 60K not realizing its best years were behind it. I still think it had one of the prettiest faces in motorcycling.

Still rocking this old beast… 2001 Lexus LS430, tuned ECU, fully adjustable coilover suspension, lots of front caster (almost all of it), pretty aggressive negative camber front and rear (-1.7* front and -2.1* rear), custom exhaust, ceramic tint, new larger 255/40-19’s at all four corners, and just over 229k miles on the clock.

She still runs like a top, everything works, and keeps me happy. Not to mention, this car freaking loves the twisties and handles them quite well. In fact, I embarrassed a new Camaro LT1 this morning on the way into work. We see each other nearly every morning and he always flies through a couple of corners down the road. This morning, I was in front and went through those corners about 10 mph faster than usual.

Got the to light up the road and he said he was afraid to go that fast through those corners as his tires already complain to him at the lower speeds we usually do, and was shocked as hell that this old boat flew through there like no ones business. Asked me if I wanted to sell it. LOL

The R100RT looks like it sold in two hours on cycle trader. Perfectly good bike with a lot of life past 35K miles.

The V100S arrives in six weeks. Exchange the black wheels for GOLD, and powder coat the exhaust shields in black. Looks are rock solid great! I’m too old to entertain multiple bikes, so the RT had to go to a new owner. He’s local so I can keep in touch.

The V100S is a very comfortable bike. And you are correct, it is a perfectly set-up riding position, slightly forward but no high wrist weighting at all. The Ohlins adaptive forks and shock suspension (compression and rebound) in four ranges; rain, road, sport and touring, keep the ride and engine mapping matching the road.

I drove the standard model on surface streets, interstate and HWY for seventy miles. The V100S technicals are there, but the emotion to lose a 31 year old R100RT companion is harder than I thought it would be.

Here is a “negative” performance task. Take a Porsche Panamera 4 and get 37.3 MPG over 261 miles of driving (Cleveland to Oxford, OH). Not bad for a 4300-pound car with a bi-turbo V6. This is the touring model so I may as well try to max out the tour part. It is rated at 26 MPG HWY. That 37.3 is harder than it looks to rally up!
