My Viper battery is located behind the left rear wheel. Just have to remove the wheel and inner fender.
Let’s not forget the total environmental impact from mining to recycling. It’s not just our local generating station.
Where else?
I thought so
Definitely!
The official colour in Germany is “hightechsilber”. But, with the optimized aerodynamic design, your dog boxes probably will not fit in the back of this model !!!
Well, it is all “chacun a son gout”. Each to their own. As a former U of Waterloo chemistry major working co-op jobs at PPG paints in Toronto, my wife requires more paint flop in any car I bring home. I had a 1996 Chamaeleon Mustang when we met and she says our relationship has been downhill ever since.
A promising concept…
You forgot the spontaneous combustion of those batteries as well.
Last thing I want is a Tesla parked in my garage just for it to burn down my entire house with everyone and everything in it. Screw that.
BTW, just rolled over 230k miles on the ole’ girl a couple days ago (the last 40k I put on it). Still runs as strong as new, and I don’t exactly drive this thing like a grandpa either.
Well done.
I put over 250,000 files on my first car (a Celica GT). Original clutch, nothing replaced but the water pump.
One can drive aggressively. Just take care of the car and treat it respectively.
FLAC or DSD? LOL
This LS430 has always been maintained by Lexus by the first owner. Once I got it, I took it to my mechanic (which unfortunately passed away last year due to stupid cancer).
We did the timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, thermostat and full adjustable coilover suspension when I got it. Other than that, just routine oil changes (Amsoil or Mobil1), 93 octane, and the occasional WOT rip.
Oh, and one top speed run shortly after I got the CPU remapped which included max throttle blade opening (stock only opens the throttle 88% wide open, now 99%), air/fuel curve, cam and ignition timing, adjusting line pressure and shift points on the trans, and removing the 131 mph governor.
Need to replace/upgrade the front rotors soon as well as pads. Will probably upgrade to braided lines while I’m in there. The pads are getting a bit low and those rotors have seen some heat.
Ultimate goal, a 6-speed manual swap, LSD rear-end, and a 3.0 liter Whipple supercharger off of a Mustang SVT Cobra, good for a cool 400-450 hp on pump gas, if not more without opening the motor.
I love the screen shot that shows the number 230000 but to help one understand what it is it says ODO next to it.
Just their way of abbreviating Odometer. I know, odd.
Who’s gonna buy an older EV?
I just don’t see the used market for those cars.
Imagine for example Milwaukee would not have replacable batteries in their m12/18 lineup. Would you buy such an drill/impact?
Sadly this is what car manufacturers do.
To me the only solution would be a standarized replacable battery pack at the gas station. This would reduce charging time and elimates the risk of cost for the used market.
Ah yes the fire issue that no one wants to discuss. That’s exactly why batteries are no longer allowed on air freight.
The fire department is completely unable to put out a battery fie.
And there is a serious risk of a fire if the main battery leads get pinched or have to be cut by the jaws of life.
