Welcome to the Octave Forum for music and recording

I’d like to get away from playing music off a USB flash/thumb drive as the DMP handling of the flash drive is very rudimentary and the meta data is not accessible. I’ll try burning the files to a disc and see what happens.
Thank you for the confirmation that the DAC will play upto DSD256 through i2s - if I can get them into a disc hopefully the DMP will read them.
1st I will try DSD128 and see if I can hear an improvement over DSD64.

I took advantage of October Octave and downloaded Clandestine Amigo ‘Things worth remembering’. Wasn’t convinced of the SQ. Seemed a bit smeared and I was wondering what was going on. Then I put the files directly onto the SSD built into my Roon Nucleus+, and the fog lifted. The initial location on a MyBookWorld NAS, going through 3 Ethernet routers before reaching the DSD Mk1 didn’t cut it!

New arrival:

Looking fwd to giving it a spin.

That should be fun. Acoustic guitar played well is pure joy to listen to.
