That Genesis Medley was a LOT of fun. I was such a British Invasion-though-following-periods fan of British bands. The only bit that kept pulling me out of the Wayback Machine was Miller’s Bowie-esque vocals, but hey. I’ll take it! Awesome rhythm section.
I saw Gitara posted on the What are you spinning thread, this is the video where I found her a year ago. That’s a Jim Redgate guitar for anyone interested, I met him at a party in Tasmania a few years ago, good guy, even though he’s Aussie the wood is North American for the most part.
OK, so - was listening to Radio Paradise this AM, and heard one of the Jeff Beck versions of the Stevie Wonder song, “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers”, written for Syreeta Wright “back in the day”.
Sounded better than I recalled it on Blow By Blow. May have been this one, which sorta sounds like the same track remastered:
ANYHOW - came across this YouTube video with the Tasty (musically! Totally talking musically!) Tal Wilkenfeld on bass, and the (pretty sure) nearly-unrecognizable-to-me younger Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. Just saw him last year with Herbie Hancock. A monster. https://www.vinniecolaiuta.com/
I was with a few feet of Edgar and his son playing before the pandemic shut down the venue.
Very Cool!! Thanks for sharing.
@Elk Ok you have my interest. Are there any recordings on Tidal or Qobuz. Thank you,
Chas
