Yesterday I stepped on a hickory nut and fell on my ass. My ass is fine, but somehow I ended up losing a toenail and injuring my ankle! Odd how a foot/ankle injury made me not want to listen to any music. Maybe it was my sour mood instead.
As always with TRPTK, a superb recording with excellent artists. Marc van Roon and companions take their piano, bass and drums trio down some innovative, exploratory avenues. The acoustic environment of Schiedam’s Westvest90 Church in the Netherlands once again provides just the right acoustic space, that Brendon Heinst leverages beautifully.
