Reminds me - I must play my one Jan Gabarak CD!

Anecdote alert - it was given to me by the owner of a glazing firm, who also played bass in a band he put together with Luther Grosvenor / Aerial Bender in the early 90 (Luther had been doing some painting and decorating for him).

It was a swap for my copy of “You Can All Join In” (since replaced) - as that included Luther on the front cover pic…

I played it at least two times while doing some work on turn table, lube the motor & bearing, downloaded the RPM app and tested the speed and w/f, speed is dead on 33.33 / 44.96, w/f around 0.15% (33) and 0.12% (45). back to music, this very nicely conducted / played / recorded piece.

Monday Michiru “Nexus”

This woman has so much going for her. Her lyrics are straight-forward yet have a wide scope of adult experience and have insight and positive statements.

And her music composition and synthesis and fusion is organized and interesting even when there’s more “house” and other elements I’m not crazy about there’s plenty to listen for and enjoy. She’s a capable arranger and band-leader and hires intelligently. Her voice is a thread that weaves so much together.

This is one of her mature, reflective, yet joyful releases. Sound is quite good.
