What are you spinning now? Mark 15

Love the sound of reel-to-reel tapes. But, I never could go down the path of more than one playback format at a time in my systems. Enjoy!!

subs have a long way to go but why not push right away…plus New Year!! Anniversary remix….

Hi @Rushton,

I find that multiple playback formats allow me to choose the format that I am in the mood for when I am in the mood for it. Also, when I have the same music in more than one format, I can compare them to see which sounds best. In this case, the R2R master recording of Norah Jones blows all of the other formats that I have, out of the water.

Yep, don’t doubt that in the least! This is why I always treasured my 45rpm reissues - they were as close to hearing the master tape that I was going to get without investing in reel-to-reel. Now, in our all-digital system, listening to DSD256 serves that purpose.

new gear is groovy

Ouchie. SUCH a beautiful reading of this song/melody.

No idea of the history of any other covers in between, but the Jarrett reading makes it sound like a jazz Standard. Jazzheads - hip me to any good 'uns.

The original, AFAICT:
