What are you spinning now? Mark 27

One of the (too few) albums that Duke Ellington was able to produce for Reprise Records before Sinatra sold the label, this one featuring one of his favorite people, Swedish singer Alice Babs.

“Serenade to Sweden” Real Gone cd

I love the sound of lovely Una Mae Carlisle’s voice and her phrasing. I wish someone would look deep inside the Columbia vaults. . . I bet there is more to discover there.

Una Mae Carlisle “1944 - 1950” Chronogical Classics cd

1960, one of the all-time great performances of this intensely powerful work.

Marsh - Aria EP

Funky Kings —laid-back, a little regal, a little funky

Leadbelly’s “The Titanic” (5:11) on Disc 5

ties in with Jaime Brockett’s 13-minute

So Below - Afterthought. Been following this artist for a few years now, she’s from New Zealand and has a really dreamy voice. This is her latest album, she only released 200 copies.

What surprised me is that she included a handwritten note of the first tracks lyrics and signed it. I know she’s a smaller artist and I’ve had others that have included stuff like this but always photocopied. Was quite impressed, nice touch.

Because of recent events…and was comparing 24/192 to my SACD… almost sounds better from Qobuz Connect via my PMG512 streamer but my SACD is just a rigged (mahalos to this forum!) bluray payer

Barney Wilen with the Mal Waldron Trio “French Story: Movie Themes from France” Timeless cd

Jimi Hendrix “Valley of Jams” Third Man Records 3 LP set, LP 1

Was lucky enough to see him a couple of times. Enjoy!
