I like this recording a lot. Straight up jazz and Christian can get funky, check out Car Wash. Great version for those of us in a certain age demographic. During the mid 70s, Airman’s clubs on Air Force bases (like Keesler AFB in MS) were R&B hot spots. For a suburban Chicago kid, it was the bar in Star Wars…I had lots of fun.
yes it take a few listens, but i like the album, it´s growing on me. It was a tweet from, Steve Guttenberg that put me on it.
Last one for the morning. My little sweetheart and I are going to a movie, later this afternoon, for the first time in months: Bohemian Rhapsody. We missed it the first time around. Our local high end theater is showing some repeats to keep from totally collapsing. They’ll get some of my money and a big gratuity.
New on Qobuz. HR. Songs with simple accompaniment. Surprisingly pleasant in a quiet sort of way. The composer was the father of the more famous scientist Huygens.
Track 3. Where There is Smoke. Listening to the separation and spatial queues that have come to life for me with my components moved to the side of the room.
Agree with @Mongo keyboards are great listening on this track. Thank you for the suggestion.
While the vast majority of Qobuz has offered exceptional options, here is one that is clearly better via the physical version. In comparing the two, the DVD-R 176.4 streaming option is missing depth in the lower mid bass and bass regions, compared to both the Qobuz lower bit version and physical HDCD version.
However if you enjoy pipe organ, this is a must have IMO to stream or in physical media.
Myriam Alter “Crossways”
Way out of my usual box but recently got to meet her (In a socially distant manner!) and she’s a nice kid so I listen and buy her stuff. Hope you’ll give it a listen and even more hope you like it.
