New on Qobuz. HR. A new album from Johannes Pramsohler who, because he has given a couple of concerts just up the road from me, I feel rather possessive about even though he is not actually a local boy. These are all pieces by composers I had not heard of. As usual the execution and sound quality are excellent. This is late Baroque which is getting dangerously close to Classical, but they are still trio sonatas, and enjoyable.

Fairport Convention’s first album features Judy Dyble on female vocals as opposed to Sandy Denny. Not as good as Sandy, that said, Ms. Dyble makes a good fist of it. Decent performance.
