What are you spinning now? Mark 7

The artist Po Shu Wang says the fork is“tuned to the oscillating frequency of the Earth.” It turns out that after a big seismic event, the Earth is left with a residual “ringing”in a number of different modes. The fork is tuned to be 12 octaves higher than the lowest of these frequencies.

Like a ringing bell
Though if I had mentioned that to the hippy proprietor with the glass tuning fork he would doubtless tell me that that frequency has been shifted (by the Nazis, or someone) and that we have to retune all our music down to 432 Hz to correct it (I have a couple of acquaintances who are full on flat earthers, and funnily enough one of them lives in Glastonbury too)

Hi Elk,
Some relation to the Schumann frequency?

No, the Schumann frequency is much higher at 7.83Hz and is electromagnetic noise, not a physical vibration.

Fun stuff.

So much to love in this set. The joy these two can and do project! Very good mastering imo as well.

I haven’t seen that LP in ages! I used to have a copy of it long ago. I ended up selling it because the only tracks I ever listened to were the title cut and “Someone to Me.” That latter one was always fun to hear because I’d invariably be startled by the first staccato note from the organ/keyboard.

Qobuz providing on 96/24, makes the listening pleasure that much better. Thank you for the recommendation.

I’ve had the LP since sometime in the 70s, once every few years I’ll play it.
