What do you think of the headphones? I find interesting they are a modified Fostex T50RP MK3, an inexpensive studio headphone.
Well, they are heavily modified and my pair are not yet fully broken in (I have spent time with a borrowed well-seasoned pair). I don’t have experience with the original headphone design they are modified from, but reviews seem to indicate they are quite transformed.
I had three pairs of headphones before these in use: Oppo PM-1, Audeze LCD-2, and Sennheiser HD800S. I find these fall in between the LCD-2 (which lost a fight with an object my wife dropped on them and lost a channel, hence the ZMF slipping in) and the Sennheiser in tonal balance–not as dark and moody as the Audeze nor as airy as the HD800s. The interesting thing is that I have three different headphone amplifiers to use and each headphone works best with a particular amplifier, making it easy to place each in a system. I would say that they are almost as comfortable as the Sennheiser and more comfortable than the Oppo, and overall I like the Sennheiser best BUT I also use that in a system with a Decware EQ device, the ZROCK2, and that improves the Sennheiser’s sound for my tastes. The ZMF and the Oppo both are great fits for their systems, so I have three systems with great headphone sound (one, with the Oppos in use, is a headphone only bedroom system).
I do like these ZMF Oris and think that they will improve a little bit with more use and I’m set for headphones again.
The way I consume music these days, new CDs often fly by in a blur. This is one of those. Glad I’m taking another listen.

Not only is it the great Al Green but it’s one of those cheaply put together reissues that sounds amazing. Have to turn it way up though. DRs in the 15 range if I recall correctly.
